The most daunting question often received when reading Tarot cards is: “Do you predict the future when you read the cards?”
In short, we can say that no, Tarology does not predict the future, that’s what Cartomancy does.
Don’t Have your Future Predicted!
First of all, if I were to give you advice, I would advise against having your future predicted, and I’ll explain why.
Imagine your life: you are in control of your life, and at every moment, you have an infinite number of possible paths ahead of you. You can choose which path to take, and this is based on your personal power, with free will as its foundation.
But now let’s make a hypothesis: you go to someone who reads the cards to predict the future.
The reading of the cards, in itself, is a shamanic ritual and thus has the ability to speak to our unconscious part, the deepest part of us, and if you tell our unconscious something, it might believe it, and at that point, it will do everything possible to manifest the reality that has been proposed to it.
The Self-Fulfilling Prophecy
What happens when you receive a prediction can therefore be defined as a “self-fulfilling prophecy.” What happens is that up to a certain point, you have a number of possible futures ahead, but after receiving the prediction within the shamanic ritual of the reading, the number of these possible futures begins to decrease because one of the possible futures receives more energy.
Sometimes you hear people say, “They read my cards, and everything they said came true.” This mainly derives from the charisma of the person who read them and the “openness” of the person who received the reading. The greater the charisma of the card reader, the greater the influence they will have on the recipient.
Tarology, Destiny in your Hands
My advice, therefore, is to use the great power of the Tarot to understand the origin of the problem you are facing and find new solutions, not to make predictions. This is what Tarology does.
